Ryan's demolition permit set

The demolition of Ryan's to make way for a Sheetz has been permitted by the state for the period of September 1 through September 12, according to the Roanoke Rapids Planning and Development Department.

Eighty boxes of rechargeable drills were stolen from a tractor-trailer at the Pilot Truck Center, apparently as the driver slept, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

The Northampton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Sunday night breaking and entering in which the victim, who in the end was struck in the head with a gun, tried to fight back.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports that a juvenile placed in its custody at the Dobbs Youth Development Center in Kinston failed to return to the facility today following a home visit.

A Thursday meeting between city officials and black community leaders left both sides with an agreement to continue talks, participants said in statements released today.

Final recreation plan workshop set
