Two arrested in separate task force stings

The City County Drug Task Force followed up on several drug cases throughout the county Wednesday, conducting two buy bust operations, one in Littleton and the other in Enfield.

Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said in a statement that shortly after 3 p.m., the task force, with assistance from Littleton Police Department Patrolman M.A. Oakley, conducted a buy bust operation in the town limits.

During the operation Elriza Arlando Silver, 49, agreed to sell Hydrocodone pills to an undercover agent.

Agent C. Dixon charged Silver, of Littleton, with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II, and carrying a concealed weapon.

During the arrest, Silver was in possession of a small caliber handgun.

Silver was given a $10,000 secured bond with a July 22 court date.

Hydrocodone is used during the treatment of pain and has a high potential for abuse, Tripp said in the statement.

Shortly before 5:45 p.m., agents were in the Enfield area where Larmaraquas Devon Arrington, 37, agreed to sell marijuana to an undercover agent.

The purchase of marijuana was made and agents moved in to make the arrest when Arrington noticed them.

Arrington ran and was caught a short distance from where the purchase was made. Agents noticed the him throw something during the chase, which was discovered to be a black bag containing 13 individually wrapped bags of marijuana, a plastic bag of small red plastic baggies, and a plastic bag of marijuana weighing approximately 28.9 grams.

Captain A.M. Harris charged Arrington with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possess marijuana paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer.

Arrington, of Enfield, was given a $10,000 secured bond with a July 22 court date.
