The registry book will be available for signing through Thursday, according to funeral home owner Harold Massey, who worked with Dickens in the past. “Come by and express your condolences to this country music hall of fame member and oldest Grand Ole Opry member.”
The book will be passed on the family of Dickens, Massey said.
The 94-year-old singer-writer suffered a stroke on Christmas Day and then died of a cardiac arrest in a Nashville area hospital.
Dickens had been performing at the Opry almost continuously since 1948, and made his last appearance on December 20 as part of his birthday celebration when he sang Out Behind the Barn.
