A man leaving Ransome Circle in Weldon Wednesday afternoon was found to reportedly have crack in his hat after he ran a stop sign.

Captain Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Agent D.C. Dickens stopped George William Scott, 63, of Halifax shortly before 2 p.m..

Dickens stopped the vehicle on Country Club Road near Elm Street, where Harris said Scott reportedly told the agent he didn't have a drivers license.

A search of the man led to the discovery of a user amount of crack wrapped in an ATM receipt in his ball cap.

It was unclear where Scott had been on Ransome Circle, Harris said.

Dickens charged Scott with driving while license revoked and felony possession of cocaine.

He received a $1,000 secured bond and awaits a January 7 court date.
