The Halifax County Sheriff's Office reported the following Tuesday:

• The arrest of Antwan Devon Harvey, 20, of Littleton, for the alleged theft of copper and scrap metal.

Harvey was charged with felonious breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.

The charges are based on when Harvey allegedly entered a residence and stole copper wire and sold items to a salvage yard.

On Friday, Corporal Eric Johnson arrested Harvey at the ABC store in Littleton and transported him to the Halifax County Jail where he was placed under a $5,000 bond. He awaits a September 17 court date.

• On August 31 Deputy Shatel Coates responded to Sunset Crest Lane in Roanoke Rapids in reference to a domestic.

While responding Coates was notified of marijuana being grown in the back yard.

While investigating the assault, Coates requested Lieutenant Tim Harris to check the back yard.

Harris located one marijuana plant growing in a bucket at the rear of the house.

Coates charged Jennifer Leigh Boyd, 28, for manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was given a September 17 court date and placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $2,500 secure bond.

Terrell Jefferson, 33, reportedly fled the scene upon the deputy's arrival.

Coates obtained a warrant for Jefferson's for manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jefferson has not been located at this time.

Anyone with knowledge of Jefferson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.

Douglas Whitby III faces more charges following an investigation.

On August 13, a Thelma Road resident reported a breaking and entering where two dirt bikes were stolen.

Deputy Corey Griffin responded and began an investigation.

Griffin learned that Lieutenant Jeff Baggett of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department had located the motorcycles within the city limits.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Whitby, 16, of Roanoke Rapids.

He was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and injury to personal property.

Whitby was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $16,000 secured bond with an October 8 court date.
