A Roanoke Rapids man faces charges related to an attempted armed robbery on Bullington Road, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Kevin Wayne Griffin, 43, was jailed on $10,000 bond and awaits a September 17 court date on charges of attempted armed robbery and injury to personal property.

Major Scott Hall said the injury to personal property count is related to Griffin reportedly stabbing a swimming pool during the matter.

Investigation by Deputy Eric Johnson revealed that Griffin was allegedly trying to take money from the victim, whom him knew.

There were no physical injuries reported in the August 8 matter.
