HA fifth grader wins state poster contest

Eli Beal, a fifth-grade student at Halifax Academy has won the state level competition in the North Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution Americanism Poster contest.

His entry was selected by the Halifax Resolves chapter as the winner of the chapter competition before moving up to the state level.

The topic of this year’s contest was Francis Marion; the Swamp Fox.

The poster will now advance to the national level at the NSSAR Congress in Greenville, South Carolina in July.

 

Eli received a check for $750 from NCSSAR President Ken Wilson for his winning entry.
