On the baseball field, Faith Christian beat Hobgood in the first game, Southampton Academy beat Rocky Mount Academy in game two in the winners bracket. Hobgood  was up 3-0 when lightning came suspending the game til Soon as the field can be ready Saturday with the other Friday games to follow.

On the softball field Chaloner Middle vs Southampton Academy was the only team to hit the field for the girls. Southampton came out with the win in the bottom of the seventh beating Chaloner 7-6. Giving Chaloner their first loss of the season.

The loser bracket game between Hobgood Academy vs Northeast Prep will take place as soon as fields are playable Saturday with winners bracket game between Brunswick Academy vs Southampton Academy, then Halifax Academy will play the winner of the Hobgood vs Northeast Prep. Next should be that winner vs Chaloner Middle.

Games are set to get under way around 10 AM Saturday, but with reports of up to 3 inches of rain at Halifax Academy things might be pushed back a little.
