Chief Deputy Bruce Temple said around 3:30 a.m., Corporal E. Johnson and Deputy D. Newsome arrived at a residence on Ward Drive in the P&J area after a neighbor called about hearing noises from a house that was for sale.
Starks, left, and Carter.
The officers determined that Sequan Carter, 19, of Littleton, and Khalilmon Starks, 18, of Gaston, allegedly forced their way into the house through a rear window.
The deputies found the men inside the house and arrested them without incident, charging them with breaking and entering, injury to real property and trespassing.
Both men were given $1,000 bonds for the charges. Carter received an additional bond of $50,000 due to an outstanding order for arrest for a robbery with a dangerous weapon in Northampton County.
Both men have April 28 court dates.
“We're having a lot of of break-ins,” Temple said. “This is a prime example of how communities with Neighborhood Watch look out for each other so you're looking out for yourself and your family.”
