Roanoke Valley resident College cheerleaders fair well in Daytona

Shoe and Tant bring home the cheerleading hardware

Last week at the 24th NCA & NDA collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in Daytona Beach Florida, the Valley had four cheerleaders on three different college teams represented. Jill Neville, Cameron Shoe, Alex Tant and Emily Suiter.

 

 

Almost 7,000 student athletes and coaches from 35 states, Japan, Canada and Costa Rica tested their technical skills, showmanship and game day abilities against the best of the best!

Jill Neville, a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill is a 2nd year member of the UNC All-Girl Cheerleading team for UNC finished 7th and did not advance to the finals.

 

Emily Suiter in Daytona far right

Emily Suiter, a freshman at NC State, is a member of the small Co-ed cheerleading squad for NC State advanced to the finals and finished in fourth place.

 

NC States Ms. Wolf finished in 6th place in the Mascot division.

The top winners this year for the Valley were Cameron Shoe, a Junior at East Carolina is a 1st year member and Alex Tant, a Freshman at East Carolina is a 1st year member of the ECU All-Girl Cheerleading team for ECU, who advanced to the finials and placed second bringing back a trophy.

 

Just making the trip, is a testament to all the cheerleaders how good they are.
