A surveillance photo has been released from an October 5 alarm call in the Great Falls Shopping Center where two businesses were broken into.

Leads in the case may also help solve a similar one on Premier Boulevard as Roanoke Rapids police continue to work to establish any links between the two, Captain Andy Jackson said.

The surveillance photo was from an alarm call that came in around 5:15 a.m. on October 5.

Officer Scott Blythe responded to the alarm call from It's Fashion Metro and found the front glass door broken. Upon further investigation it was determined that the door of Panda restaurant had been pried as well.

Jackson said police are also trying to determine whether this case could be tied to one in September where one business was broken into when a door was pried open with a crowbar and an unsuccessful attempt was made to punch a hole into another to gain access. A successful attempt was made to gain entry into a second business through a punched hole in the drywall.

Police are looking for a suspect who appears to be a black make in his late 20s or 30s and stands between 5 feet, 7 inches tall to 5 feet, 10 inches and is of average weight.

He has a medium to dark complexion and was wearing khaki pants and an olive shirt.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Jeff Davis at 252-326-3936 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
