Halifax resident and 2013 graduate of Halifax Academy, Emily Suiter has worked hard to follow her childhood dream over the years to become a NC State University Cheerleader. Today all her work paid off.

Suiter, who  has dreamed of being a cheerleader for NC State University since she was a little girl partly because her father and two uncles all went to NC State, but mainly because of her love of cheering

Suiter has cheered in High school at Halifax Academy and trained over the past 11 years learning from many instructors from Cheer Unlimited, Valley Cheer and Cheer Extreme in Raleigh.

Suiter who is a freshman at NC State University has made the all girl NC State level 6 advanced competition cheer team. She also found out she made the small coed State team as well. Not able to do both, Suiter chose the Coed team and will cheer the football sidelines and the basketball court of the NC state University games this season
