Hornets JV open on home field at Chaloner Middle

The second year Roanoke Rapids Hornets didn't have a home field last season, this year things have changed. Both the Roanoke Rapids Hornets and Yellow Jackets in the Halifax-Northampton Midget football League share the High school field this year and the Hornets will use Chaloner for their JV games.

The Hornets JV team hosted Rich Square Saturday morning and earned the victory, beating Rich Square 26-6. Jamari Edwards scored three of the touchdowns while Matthew MacNichol scored the other.

Gary Shearin recovered two fumbles on defense.
