The two men allegedly involved in the Thursday morning robbery of Motel 6 have been formally charged and have court dates set, according to Roanoke Rapids police.

Ramondae Parker, 19, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, flee to elude arrest and no operators license.

He was jailed on $20,000 bond and has a June 24 court date.

Shelby Travon Edwards, 17, who has the same court date and bond as Parker, was charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and resist a public officer.

The robbery occurred shortly before 3:15 a.m. when men later identified as Parker and Edwards rushed into the lobby, allegedly armed with CO2 pistols, and demanded money.

The motel clerk complied and the men left.

Sergeant Mike Moseley was in the area and spotted a suspicious car on Wheeler Street, which is in the area. When Moseley tried to initiate a stop the driver sped off and a chase ensued.

The vehicle chase ended at Second and Chockoyotte streets where Parker and Edwards bailed from the vehicle and ran.

Officer Gorton Williams caught parker and Edwards was arrested later at his house on Wheeler Street.
