Orioles took the early lead against the Dodgers 5 -0 in the first inning.  With Tate Schmaltz on the mound for the Orioles, he had a total of 6 strike outs, 1 walk and giving up only 3 hits.  Relieved by Peyton Jackson in the 5^th inning, Jackson had 1 strike out, 1 walk with zero hits.  Offensive standouts for the Orioles are Logan Jackson 3-4 including 2 singles and a triple, Peyton Jackson 3-4 including 2 singles and a double, and Nick Horvath 2 singles out of 4 bats.   Jacob Rook and Mitch Morgan both are recognized for ‘taking one for the team’ both were hit by a pitch giving the Orioles base runners.  Defensive standout is DeAndre’ Butler for his ‘look what I found’ catch at the top of the 1^st inning creating the 3^rd out.    Dodgers’ defensive players are Shyheem Futrell, starting pitcher, with 2 strike outs and Matt Wheeler, relief pitcher, with 3 strike outs.  Offensive standout, GW Bethel, for his ‘eagle eye’ while at bat.  Bethel was walked twice and singled during the game.

Action resumes Tuesday night at Ledgerwood Baseball Complex with Dr. Thomas McDonald, MD BRAVES vs. NC Glass Co., Inc. CARDINALS @ 6pm; followed by D.A.S. Transit YANKEES vs. Valley Community Church ORIOLES @ 8pm.  Also there will be double-header action in Jackson when the Kapstone Kraft Paper ROCKIES take on the Roanoke Electric Co-op DODGERS beginning at 6pm.
