The man, Danny Linn Gray, 35, attempted to run from City County Drug Task Force agents during the process, the task force said in a statement issued by the Weldon Police Department.
He was arrested in his backyard after exiting from the rear of the residence.
The arrest of Gray and his girlfriend, Sontorya Artis, 22, on marijuana counts, around 8 a.m. came following a two-week investigation by Agent C.A. Parker. Lieutenant Chris Davis of the Weldon Police Department forwarded the complaint to the task force.
The complaint of possible drug activity ran along the same time as the investigation, task force Captain A.M. Harris said this afternoon.

During the search of the residence with the assistance of Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant John Bozard and his dog, Fino, approximately 144 grams of cocaine, 520 grams of marijuana, 49 Oxycontin pills, two handguns, currency and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized.
The drug paraphernalia consisted of two digital scales and cigars.
Parker charged Gray with trafficking in cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with t intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, trafficking schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He charged Artis with possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance.
Gray received a $50,000 bond and Artis a $1,500 bond.
Both have May 24 court dates.
Street value of the cocaine is approximately $8,640 and the marijuana is approximately $2,600.
