Investigator J.K. Davis said it is unclear how the woman obtained the check.

The man in the photo is sought only for questioning, Davis said.

Lieutenant Charles Vaught said in a statement the man was in the woman's company at the time the check was cashed.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2898 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
