RRPD blotter: August 3-6

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

August 3

Around 3 p.m., Master Officer Mark Peck responded to a call of someone attempting to pass counterfeit money at Food Lion on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

Food Lion staff said Orville Noble, 21, of Durham, attempted to pass a counterfeit bill to one of the cashiers.

Peck arrested and charged Noble with possession of a counterfeit instrument.

Noble received a $5,000 bond and an August 26 court date.

Noble was also charged by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a counterfeit instrument and attempting to obtain property by false pretense by Deputies Matt Brown and Marcus Morris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office for a matter at Food Lion on Bolling Road.

Sergeant Terrence Tyler assisted.

Around 4:30 p.m., Peck responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention said Samantha Ann Curving, 22, of Littleton, took items from the store without paying for them.

Peck arrested and charged Curving with larceny and possession of stolen goods,

Curving received a $200 bond and August 7 court date.

Tyler assisted.

Around 9 p.m., Officer Greg Colson responded to a trespassing call at New Dixie Mart on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

Colson found Eugene Lee High, 53, of Roanoke Rapids, on the property.

High was arrested and charged for trespassing.

He received a $750 bond and a September 9 court date.

August 5

Around 1 p.m., Officer Chris Biggerstaff responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention said Clementine Yellorday Webb, 57, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying for them.

Biggerstaff arrested and charged Webb with larceny and possession of stolen goods,

Webb was given a $500 bond and a September 9 court date.

Peck assisted.

Around 8:45 p.m., Officer Ryan Cross responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention said Aiyson Elaine Jonas 23, and Amber Lee Rychwalski, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying for them.

Cross arrested and charged both with larceny and possession of stolen goods,

Rychwalski also had an outstanding order for arrest for shoplifting.

Both were given $1,050 bonds and September 15 court dates.

Sergeant Richie White and Master Officer Gerald Morris assisted.

August 6

Around 1 a.m., Officer Patrick Smith was flagged down about a car fire on South Hamilton Street. Smith encountered Natarsha Ann Seaborn, 37, of Roanoke Rapids.

Seaborn was found to be in possession of a concealed handgun.

Smith arrested and charged Seaborn with carrying a concealed weapon,

Seaborn was given a $500 bond and a September 4 court date.

White, Lieutenant C.L. Vaught and Morris assisted.

Around 12:30 p.m., Colson responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Pine Street.

He spoke with Antonio Curtis Bynum Jr., 24, and Sermon Renee Hawkins, 24, of Roanoke Rapids, who were involved in a physical altercation with each other.

A vehicle in the yard was damaged.

Colson arrested and charged Bynum with assault on a female and Hawkins with assault and damage to property.

Lieutenant Bruce Norton, Biggerstaff and Investigator Chris Babb assisted.

Around 2 p.m., Peck responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention told Peck Yashebs Renne Pierce, 25, of Gaston, and Heather Newton, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying for them.

Peck arrested and charged both with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Both were given $500 bonds and September 8 court dates.

Norton assisted.

Around 11:30 p.m., Cross responded to a call of drug activity in the Sheetz parking lot.

Cross encountered Nafis Rashad Pinkney, 26, of Weldon, who was found in possession of marijuana.

Cross cited Pinkney for possession of marijuana.

He was released until his November 9 court date.

Morris assisted.
