A 27-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition after she was shot in the neck while in a vehicle in the 200 block of East Sixth Street this morning.

Weldon police Chief Christopher Davis said Officer A. Dickens responded to the scene shortly after 5:15 a.m. upon receiving a call a shooting had occurred.

Dickens located the victim, who was transported to a local medical facility and later another facility.
