Improvements eyed for 158 corridor parks

With a Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust grant under its belt for a skate and BMX park, the Roanoke Roanoke Rapids Recreation Advisory Committee voted today to make three parks along the Highway 158 corridor a priority for possible funding.

2015 4-H camps set

This year's 4-H & Youth Day Camp program in Halifax have been set.

The Halifax Community College Board of Trustees met Tuesday on campus for their monthly meeting.

The city's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year contains a revenue neutral tax rate adjustment that would see that number go to 65.1 cents per $100 of valuation if approved.

Williams surrenders in 2nd St. theft

Xavier Tobias Williams contacted the Roanoke Rapids Police Department Monday to turn himself in on outstanding warrants.
