It took overtime and penalty kicks for the Roanoke Rapids High School  women's Lady Yellow Jackets to advance to the 4th round in the 2A NCHSAA state championship. 

Roanoke Rapids beat NCSSM 2-1 Monday night at Hoyle field to advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCHSAA state women's soccer championship.
The game went to sudden death penalty kicks .

Jackets Casey Neal scored with Avery Qualls assisting in regulation.

While Lady Jackets Kamdyn Jean, Kara Baird and Bailey Cain all scored penalty kicks.

Lady Jackets goalie Shaniah Daniels had 29 saves in goal.

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Jackets will play at home at Hoyle field Thursday vs Clinton at 6pm.
