The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings soccer team met their match Saturday in the 3rd round of the playoffs with a tough lose to Statesville Christian School by the score of 6-0.

"We had a tough time against a very physical opponent on their home field tonight," stated Vikings coach Time George. "The heat today played a factor with the temps in the mid 90's at game time. We don't have any excuses, we just got outclassed by a better opponent. Our girls improved throughout the year with many new players contributing more and more as the season went on. I'm very proud of the effort this team gave this year. They never quit learning and working to get better every game. I'm going to really miss the contributions of seniors Kate Starnes and Abby George. They have been such a special part of this team for the last 6 years. They played to win every day and will be missed next year," added George.
