Captain A.M. Harris reported shortly after 11 a.m. today agents of the narcotics division were notified of a person possibly growing marijuana on their property in Hollister.
Agent D.J. Epperson and Harris followed up on the information given by A Squad.
When agents arrived at the residence they noticed the approximately 4-feet marijuana plants growing in the garden.
Epperson arrested and charged the owner of the residence, Larkie Lynch, 66, of Main Street, for manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance.
Lynch received an August 15 court date.
Harris reported On Tuesday shortly after 4 p.m., Agent D.W. McKeel conducted a traffic stop on Branch Avenue near Hudson Street outside Roanoke Rapids for a motor vehicle violation. McKeel requested assistance from Agent D.R. Radford and his canine partner Tony.
During the search of the vehicle, two hits of crack cocaine were seized from the passenger’s pants pocket.
The passenger was identified as Gregory Knight, 42, of Roanoke Rapids.
McKeel arrested and charged Knight with felony possession of cocaine.
He received an August 15 court date.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall reported on July 10, Detective Matt Brown began investigating a fraud case.
Brown learned Jeryl Anthony Jones, 47, of Enfield, and Owner of A-Team Towing committed the act of obtaining property by false pretenses.
Jones was hired to tow a vehicle to another mechanic shop.
Jones allegedly lied about monies owed for the other business and kept the money for himself. Jones has an August 22 court date pending.
Weldon Police Department
Lieutenant Chris Davis reported on July 14 shortly after 8:30 p.m., Sergeant T.L. Mason spotted a four-wheeler traveling east on the roadway of Highway 158 near Poplar Street.
Mason attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the four-wheeler and its driver sped up.
The four-wheeler ended up colliding into a vehicle at the intersection of Sycamore and Sixth streets.
The man operating the four-wheeler got off and attempted to flee.
Mason apprehended Lamar A. Lashley, 41, of Weldon.
Lashley was placed under arrest and taken before a Halifax County magistrate.
He was charged with no registration plate, failure to reduce speed, no Insurance, failure to stop for red light, and resist, obstruct, and delay an officer.
He has an August 13 court date.
