A fire safety professional will lead a free, hour-long virtual presentation to share information about managing solar installation emergencies.

The Center for Energy Education will host a webinar Monday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring fire safety emergency response trainer John Green, who will address protocols, strategies and tools that follow federal codes and safety procedures to effectively address fire safety issues and emergency response, notably for solar equipment, during firefighting efforts.

The webinar is open to industry professionals, safety managers or any person interested in learning more about fire safety and emergency response.

The discussion will include an opportunity to ask questions and engage with Green after the presentation. More information can be found at this link

Green has more than 20 years of fire service emergency response experience and more than 10 years developing, testing and operating utility-scale solar generation facilities.

He will discuss techniques and provide answers that meet the rigorous requirements of regulatory agencies with the rationality of a tenured emergency responder.

He is currently a security management incident response manager and cyber security officer for the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin.

“As solar installations grow within our towns and across the United States, fire safety is a concern we want to help address and Green can offer valuable insights,” said Mozine Lowe, C4EE’s executive director. “This presentation can launch this important and necessary conversation.”
