The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Baseball team picked up a big conference win at JF Webb on Friday night by a score of 12-1.

Jake Van Dam picked up the win on the mound.  He allowed 1 unearned run while striking out 11 batter over 5 and 2/3 innings of work.  Ethan Vincent finished off the game for the save.

Trevor Harrison led the offense with 3 hits, including a homerun.  Also picking up hits for the Yellow Jackets were Carson Neal, Ethan Vincent, Colin Long, AJ Strickland, Bennett Liverman, Jacob Deberry, Jake Van Dam, and Cameron Wilson.

Coach Mark Snead stated, "After a long game on Thursday night, it was huge for Jake to come in and give us a strong pitching performance on the mound.  He settled us down and gave our offense a chance to get going.  Ethan then came in and did a great job of finishing the game off.  I am also proud of our offense.  We are starting to square the ball up and produce some runs.  Now we have to keep working hard and improving all phases of our game as a team."

With the win the RRHS improves to 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the Northern Carolina Conference.

The Yellow Jackets will next host South Granville on Tuesday night at 6pm.
