Carolyn Rebecca (Becky) Davis Hux passed away peacefully in her home on February 26, 2021.

She is survived by her daughters Sherry Mills and husband Andy, Dee Landen and husband Denny, grandchildren Amy Olson and husband Matt, Blaine Mills and wife Jessica, Jason Landen and wife Vanessa, Jessica Watts and husband Chris; great grandchildren Riley, Brayden and Grace Mills, Ethan, Sadie and Micah Olson, Bristol Landen and Nathan Watts, Madalynn and Leah Davis, Josh and Landon King, Christopher Johnson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, daughter Susan Grace, Sister Retha Sykes, brothers Tom Davis and Alfred Davis.

Becky was born April 17, 1940 in Halifax County to Simon Morris Davis and Beulah May Lassiter. She married the love of her life Charles Graham Hux and to this marriage was born three daughters Sherry, Dee and Susan Grace who died as an infant. Becky worked most of her career as Manager in the school lunchroom program for the Roanoke Rapids City Schools. 

When encountering the students later in life, she affectionately referred to them as “one of her kids.” 

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and friend. She loved her family, who were always the center of her life. 

Becky was a Christian, loved her church, her home, tending to her flowers and birds, visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She was known and loved for her loving nature and spunky spirit. Becky leaves us with many cherished memories, stories to share and will be deeply missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Rosemary Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church’s Fellowship Hall.
