James Arthur Ratliff, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022.

He is preceded· in death by his father, James Arthur Ratliff, Sr; maternal grandfather, Michy Kravchenko, and maternal grandmother, Mary Mogosh Kravchenko.

James "Jim" is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ratliff; son, Francisco Torres Ratliff (Maria); mother, Elizabeth Naffziger; brother, Michael Lillman (Elodie and family); sisters, Judy Volgmann (Richard and family), Mary Lillman (and family); Elizabeth Griffin (Frankie), Brenda Ratliff O'Briant (and O'Briant family), and Tammy Sanchez (Jaime); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A true American Patriot, he served our country in the United States Airforce (retired). He loved watching sports, especially Duke basketball (#1 fan), working on his car, "Sally" and his dog, Roscoe. He had a passion for writing, reading, and travel (bragged about how his passport was full).

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with service at 6:30 pm (Central time) on Saturday, March 5th at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels on Judson Road in San Antonio, Texas. 

The Service will be live streamed. Final burial with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA in the near future.

Visitation and service will be live streamed at First Christian Church, 836 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Eastern time) with service starting at 7:30 pm.
