Wayne “Cecil” Barnhill, 79, of Halifax, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

He was born in Halifax County to the late Ryan Hercules Barnhill and Dorothy Pittman Barnhill and was preceded in death by his brother Charles Barnhill.

“Cecil” was member of the Royal White Heart #2 in Halifax, A life-time member of Halifax Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Shriners and member of the Halifax Fishing Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lanelle Crawley Barnhill; his daughter Lara Ann Barnhill Flowers and her husband, Greg of Elm City, NC; his son Chris Barnhill and his wife Kathy of Halifax, NC; his two grandsons, Jim Davis and his wife Laura of Apex, NC and Benjemin Flowers of Elm City, NC; his brother, George Barnhill of Rocky Mount, NC and his sister, Diane Whitby and her husband, Harvey of Monroe, NC and also several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services with Masonic Rites will be held for “Cecil” on Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 7pm in The Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Charles Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening.
