The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Lieutenant L. Melton:

On Sunday shortly before 9 p.m. Officer D. Thomas was in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway when he observed a man later identified as Jeffery Allen White get in his truck and drive off in a careless and reckless manner. 

Thomas attempted to stop the vehicle. White failed to stop for blue lights and siren. 

After getting the Weldon man to stop, Thomas smelled a strong odor of alcohol.

White was arrested and charged with DWI, resist, obstruct, and delay, fail to heed light or siren, and reckless driving with wanton disregard. 

He received a $2,500 bond and February 10 district court date.

Officer A. Young and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol assisted.

Hostile driver

On January 4 shortly before 9:45 p.m. Thomas conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a business located in the 1600 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway. 

The driver, Anahria Sihayah Bunn, was hostile and aggressive towards Thomas and refused to give her license.

The Weldon woman was placed under arrest and charged with resist, obstruct, and delay as well as state citations.

She has a February 5 district court date for the resisting charge and a March 10 court date for driving while license revoked and a lane change-signal violation.
