A Littleton man was sentenced to 36 months with credit for time served in a federal possession of a firearm by a felon case.

District Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced 27-year-old Kwame Tywan Robinson last week in Raleigh.

His federal sentence began on August 6.

In his May arraignment Robinson entered a guilty plea to a count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

The indictment against Robinson charged that on or about July 8 of last year Robinson, knowing that he had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by a term of imprisonment for a year or more, possessed a weapon.

In addition to his federal sentence, Robinson is serving a year to nine month stretch for the principal charge of larceny of a motor vehicle in Halifax County.

He was convicted of that crime on June 4.
