The Halifax County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board bestowed another Spirit of Hospitality Award, this one going to Patrice Holliday.

Holliday, of Garysburg, is a front house assistant and server for Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries.

Holliday has been with Hwy 55 since its opening in September 2022.

Holliday is married and has three children.

Holliday said that she loves what she does, enjoys her customers, “and looks forward to their smiles when they come in to eat at the restaurant.”

HCCVB Chairperson Yvonne Thompson shared that during recent visits to Hwy 55, “Holliday blew me away with her excellent customer service skills.”

“We are excited to be able to recognize employees that go above and beyond in providing excellent customer service,” said HCCVB President and CEO Lori Medlin. “We feel that this program will help us in our efforts to grow repeat visitation to Halifax County.”

The HCCVB created the Spirit of Hospitality Award to honor employees in the tourism/hospitality industry who enhance visitor experiences in Halifax County.

Individuals can be nominated in one or more of several categories, including server, hotel guest relations, and retail services.

Nominees must represent a lodging property, campground, restaurant, bar, attraction, or retailer in Halifax County.
