Three more people have been charged in a larceny scheme in which more than $3,000 in merchandise was stolen through assistance of a store employee.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Shane Guyant confirmed Monday that Johnise McLauren, Jermaine Anderson, and Gennetta Anderson all of Weldon were all arrested and charged Sunday.

According to the state court calendar they face charges of felony conspiracy, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen property.

They, along with the first person charged Friday, have district court appearances scheduled today.

The man charged Friday, Ailito Roberto Estrada, 27, worked self checkout at the Premier Boulevard store and would reportedly allow the items to be scanned and then void the purchases.

Estrada, who maintains residency in Emporia and Weldon, was also charged with counts related to him concealing cocaine and a weapon upon intake at the Halifax County Detention Friday.

Guyant said Friday the contraband was well hidden in his crotch area and was not immediately detected during a pat down. He has a July 2 district court date for those charges.

The scheme is believed to have begun in early May and Estrada was identified through extensive investigation after police received a report of a possible larceny Thursday.

For the larceny scheme he faces eight counts of felony larceny by employee, eight counts of felony conspiracy, and eight counts of aid and abet larceny.

Upon the discovery of 8 grams of cocaine and a weapon at the detention center the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force charged him with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of a weapon by a prisoner, felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon.
