Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:
Roanoke Rapids Police Department
A man who was charged Sunday for indecent exposure was arrested Wednesday for stealing a ladder from a Vance Street residence.
Chief Shane Guyant said Bradley Cole Crowder, 30, had been released from the Halifax County Detention Center on Tuesday for the indecent exposure count that stemmed from a motorist on Saturday allegedly seeing him perform a sex act on himself near the Canal Museum.

On Wednesday around noon Lieutenant D.A. Newsome responded to an address at the end of Vance Street about the larceny of a 32-foot ladder.
Video determined the suspect was Crowder, the police chief said.
Officers were directed by witnesses to the end of Madison Street where Crowder was seen running with the ladder in hand. Once in the area, officers obtained consent to search two houses, both known to be places where Crowder could be located.
Upon searching the second residence, Crowder was found hiding inside.
Crowder had changed clothes and shaved his head in an effort to change his appearance before officers could arrive, Guyant said.
Captain J. Baggett began to place Crowder under arrest when Crowder physically resisted. PACE Officer J. Conrad, Baggett, and other officers on scene placed Crowder under arrest. There were no injuries.
Newsome applied for and was granted a search warrant for the residence where Crowder was located.
The ladder was discovered and returned to the victim.
Crowder was taken before a magistrate and charged with misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen property, and resist, delay, and obstruct a public officer.
He remains in the Halifax County Detention Center without the opportunity for bond and has a Friday district court date.
