Halifax 250 Inc. will honor the signing of the Halifax Resolves and in turn honor frontline heroes at an event scheduled the evening of April 12 at the Weldon Mills Theatre.

“As we gather to commence America’s independence celebrations, before the fun begins we will take time to pay tribute to over 300 extraordinary individuals — our regional frontline heroes,” said Larry B. Perkins, chair of the events and community stakeholders committee of the America 250 Halifax County Commission. “These brave men and women, representing various sectors including fire, police, sheriff, military, EMS and beyond epitomize selflessness and valor as they safeguard our communities and uphold our liberties day in and day out.”

Due to the work of the committee, the efforts extend across the county and beyond “with steadfast support of communities such as Roanoke Rapids, Weldon, Halifax, Enfield, Scotland Neck, Hobgood, Hollister, Littleton and Tillery, as well as generous backing from Nash and Northampton counties.”
