State Representative Michael Wray made an early morning visit to the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District on Monday.

Wray joined Superintendent Julie Thompson, bus driver Cathy Duhadaway, bus monitor Megan Cobb, and Public Information Officer Mandy Clark on bus routes for Chaloner Middle School, Belmont Elementary School, and Roanoke Rapids High School.

When the bus arrived at Belmont Elementary a little early, it gave Wray and Thompson a chance to talk to the students for a few minutes.

Thompson was able to tell the students a little about what Wray does, stating, “Representative Wray works in Raleigh to help set a budget, making it possible for the school district to hire teachers and pay for the buses.”

Wray told the students, “Get a good education and work hard because you are our future generation.”
