Ravyn Silver has been accepted into the North Carolina Water Association Apprenticeship. 

She is currently in the 10th grade and attends Halifax County Early College. 

During this apprenticeship, Ravyn will learn how polluted water is transformed into clean and usable water and how the water treatment plant is operated. 

This will take place here in the Halifax County-Roanoke Rapids area. 

Superintendent Eric Cunningham said, “I am proud of Ravyn. Ravyn participated during our Lighthouse Solar Energy Camp Apprenticeship and has been thriving ever since.”

Training certification

The school system recognized Kermika Nicholson and Devin Jerman for completing the North Carolina Association of School Business Officers Manager's Certification Training. 

Cunningham said, “I am proud of Ms. Nicholson and Mr. Jerman for completing the NCASBO certification training. This is a great accomplishment for advancing their careers”.

The NCASBO develops future school business leaders through a comprehensive training program in school finance. 

The academy provides focused training to school business officials to:

Promotes the highest professional and ethical standards of school business management practices for North Carolina schools

Offers practical information that will help school business officials succeed and excel in their employment

Establishes a basis for advancing the professionalism of school business officials to assure school districts that current or prospective business officials have a base knowledge about laws, regulations, and procedures for the ultimate benefit of the students of North Carolina’s public school system.
