Roanoke Rapids police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred early this morning at Interstate BP near Zaxby’s.

Captain Charles Vaught said the robbery occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. when two men, their faces covered, entered the store.

One of the men had a handgun. Vaught said the men were of a light complexion.

Money was demanded and the clerk complied.

They fled between the store and Zaxby’s with an undisclosed amount of money.
