The Greensville County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man involved in a Sunday night murder and shooting on Dry Bread Road.

According to a press release, the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from 5719 Dry Bread Road around 10:50 p.m.

The caller stated that two people had been shot.

Upon the deputies arrival, they found two gun shot victims.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was identified as Mary Jean Phillips of Emporia.

The other victim is hospitalized in critical condition.

The Greensville County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for Rodney Joel Zimmerman of 5719 Dry Bread Road for murder, attempted murder and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is listed at this time as a fugitive from justice.

He may be driving a blue 2003 Ford Ranger pickup with a step side.
