An autopsy performed Monday shows a Weldon man died of a heart attack while driving his pickup on Highway 125 Saturday.

Sergeant R.E. Dudley and Trooper K.D. Mills attended the autopsy of Daniel Lee Robinson, 53.

The state Highway Patrol said Saturday it would await autopsy results to determine how Robinson died.

Mills said Robinson was traveling north in a pickup pulling a utility trailer when he approached a curve and kept straight.

The vehicle struck a culvert and went in the ditch shortly before 1 p.m. just past Trueblood Road.

Mills said Robinson was unresponsive and appeared to sustain no serious injuries from the crash.
