Suspects this morning tried to break into Information Grocery on Highway 158 by using a vehicle to ram the back of the building.
Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Corey Griffin and Eric Johnson were on patrol in the area of Information Grocery around 4 a.m. when they noticed damage to the rear of the store.
Lieutenant Bobby Martin said the officers discovered that a door near the rear of the store had been torn down and someone had entered.
The officers did not find anyone in the store but did notice that the suspects used a vehicle to gain entry.
The door was rammed and knocked in and this caused a portion of the store’s wall to be damaged also. Nothing was reported missing.
Anyone with information on the breaking and entering is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or the sheriff's office 252-583-8051.
