A dusting of snow caused some delays and the state Highway Patrol warned there is black ice on roadways.

The snow was expected to taper off this morning.

Trooper M.D. Adair said there was a car overturned on Interstate 95 near the river bridge.

Adair said motorists should give themselves more stopping distance and more time to get where they need to be.

Roanoke Rapids schools opened on time this morning.
