Two men are wanted in a Friday night shooting and attempted robbery that left two with gunshot wounds, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

The men, Jimmel Horton and Jeff Clark, are considered armed and dangerous, Lieutenant Bobby Martin said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Mars Lane in Enfield. When officers arrived they found two victims, one received a wound to his forehead and forearm, the other victim sustained a wound to his abdomen area.

During the investigation it was learned several males rushed at the two victims and began to fire their guns.

The motive behind the shooting is believed to be robbery. The victims, according to statements given at the scene, exited a home when they were confronted by armed subjects waiting in the yard for them.

Guns were pulled on them and money was demanded. A scuffle broke out and the shots started.

One victim was treated and released and the other was airlifted to another facility for surgery. He is currently in fair condition.

Further investigation revealed Horton and Clark were allegedly involved and they face the following charges:

 

One count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

 

One count each of going armed to the terror of the people.

 

Horton faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
