Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:
Halifax EMC is currently experiencing a large-scale outage affecting a significant portion of its system due to a transmission outage on Dominion Energy’s system.
A mulch fire at the Halifax County Landfill off Liles Road has been contained but not extinguished, Deputy County Manager Christina Wells confirmed this afternoon. It may take two to three days to completely extinguish the fire.
The expansion of the ECU Health Office of Community Health summer meals program will include Roanoke Rapids.
