From the busiest street in Europe to the rural backdrop of the former Halifax County Airport, 21 flags made from discarded ocean plastics will be on display Wednesday night as the Center for Energy Education begins its Light the Night program.
They call themselves the Radiant Rays — 10 girls who went through a five-week internship at the Center for Energy Education, an internship which rewarded them with $1,500 scholarships at the end of the program.
The Center for Energy Education Monday celebrated the accomplishments of a group of Chaloner Middle School students who called their team the Wind Breakers and now lay claim to calling themselves national champions.
