The #4 seed Halifax Academy fell short Friday in the Softball 1A NCISAA State Championship play-offs to the #1 seed Cape Fear Christian Academy.

After beating Cape Fear in the winners bracket game Thursday, Halifax fell in the loser bracket to Cape Fear 9-0.

Halifax Academy had only Drew Rose and Sydney Smith each to make a single hit. "We did not hit the ball today."

Halifax finished one game short of the State Championship game and placed third in the 1A NCISAA State Championship.
