Myrick School of Dance (MSD) finished their 2015/2016 dance season with Starquest Dance Competition this past weekend in Durham.

MSOD took three teams with 14 different numbers. Superbass, Beetlejuice, Ace of Hearts, Scream, Amazing Life, Tuitii Fruitii, Marry Me, Fishin Hole, Burning House, Shut It Down and Chains all received High Gold adjudication.

Good To Be Alive a clogging duet with Rachel and Sarah Rightmyer received Platinum adjudication, a judges specialty award of "Super Synchronization" and 1st place overall.

Chains a senior jazz routine received a Platinum adjudication and 1st place overall while Smooth Criminal a clogging production consisting of 24 girls ranging in age 8 years old to 18 years old was the biggest hit of the weekend. They received Platinum adjudication, a judges specialty award for "Super Staging" and 1st place overall.

Several Myrick School of Dance routines were recognized in their top 10 division and were awarded judges specialty awards. The following are recipients to those awards: Beetlejuice junior tap duet with Mallaury Pageau and Cameron Neal received 4th place overall, Marry Me a petite small jazz group received 8th overall out of 32 dances and "Beautiful Brides", Burning House a teen large group lyrical routine received 4th overall and "Terrific Teamwork", Step In Time senior large group tap 3rd overall and Shut It Down a senior large group received 2nd overall.

MSD owner/instructor Heather Merritt stated, "It was a great weekend. These girls have worked hard all year, their routines have gotten better and they rocked the DPAC this weekend. We are so proud of all their accomplishments. It was well deserved."
