Northeast Academy's Hunter Education Skill team competed Saturday in the District 3 Hunter Education Shooting Competition at Rose Hill Plantation.
Northeast Academy Varsity Team received 1st Place Overall Team. The Varsity Team also won 1st Place Shotgun. The Team placed 2nd in Rifle and Archery and 3rd in Hunter Skills.
Individual Teams awards were won by the following: Luke Baker – All-Around Individual, 2nd Place Rifle and 2nd Place Archery. Corey Hudson received 1st place Shotgun after having to participate in a shoot off to determine the winner in that several shooters, including Luke Baker and Josh Duncan of the NEA shooting Team, shot perfect scores. LJ Barnes placed 3rd in both rifle and archery.
Northeast Academy Junior Varsity received 1st Place Overall Team. They also placed 1st Place Archery, Rifle and Hunter Skills. They received 2nd place in Shotgun.
Individual JV Awards were as follows: Avery Brown – 1st Place Overall as well as 1st Place in Hunter Skills and Archery. He placed 3rd in Rifle. JT Simmons won 1st Place in Shotgun. Olivia Wheeler placed 2nd in Rifle. Carly Stephenson placed 2nd in Hunter Skills.
Northeast Academy will now move on to the State Competition held in Ellerbee, NC in April 30, 2016.
