The Roanoke Rapid Lady Yellow Jackets softball team broke the 6-0 undefeated Bunn Wildcats streak Friday night at Jackets field.

The Jackets jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Bunn only for Bunn to answer back in the top of the fourth inning. Roanoke Rapids bats were on fire in the bottom of the fourth scoring 12 more runs holding the Wildcats scoreless ending the game due the 10 run slaughter rule winning 14-2.

Sierra Hearp earned the win on the mound pitching the complete 5 innings allowing 2 runs off of 6 hits with 3 walks and 7 strike-outs.

At the Plate for the Jackets: Sierra Hearp had a double and two singles with 3 RBI's, Abbi Carpenter with a double and a triple with 1 RBI, Brooke McClenny with 2 singles with 2 RBI's, Hunter Martin with 2 singles with 3 RBI's, Michelle Stewart with 2 singles, Kimmie Etheridge with a single with 1 RBI, Breanna Allen with 1 single with 1 RBI, Jordan Carpenter with a double.

Post game comments from head coach Steve Milligan, " I'm pleased with our ladies hitting and defensive play, it was a great team effort."
