The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets hosted a non-conference match against Currituck Knights at home Thursday night.
Roanoke Rapids and Currituck tied 1-1. The lone goal for Roanoke Rapids was by Laura Brown.
Post Match comments from head coach Craig Jean, "We started the game down 3 key players. My players stepped up and really gave a great effort tonight. I thought my backs did a great job stopping #10 in the run of play and making big plays when they were needed. I was very happy to see Laura Brown finish a nice shot tonight. Laura and Madison Archer played a lot more minutes tonight due to the injuries of other players, and I am appreciative that they pushed themselves to keep going. Chloe Wilson and Katherine Clayton were both explosive attacking out of the middle and fun to watch as always. Harley Shearin did a great job working without the ball and making runs to get us attacking and she kept pressure on their back line. Overall with the injuries, adjusting to playing on hotter days and playing a very good opponent, I am very pleased with my team."
