Halifax Academy Lady Vikings #7 seed basketball team traveled to Cary Academy Thursday afternoon for the second round of the 1A NCISAA 2015-16 State play-offs.

Head coach Rick Ruffin post game comments, "Unfortunately, turnovers, foul trouble, and Kim Shearin getting Injured before halftime. We just did not have much go right today. However, Kelly, Kim, Brooke, and Kiarra were an outstanding senior class. They have left our underclassmen a season to build upon next year.

Senior Kelly Williams ends her season on a high note. Williams holds the current school's leading scorer with 2,542 points and 1,731 rebounds. "Kelly ends the season getting the extra effort award and setting the career record. There were so many good things that transpired among our team this season. I'm not just going to look at our last game. I'm proud of this team for a great season finishing 20-3. The tradition of Lady Viking basketball will continue at Halifax Academy," added coach Ruffin.
